Scenic spots in Zante: Keri Village and Marathonisi islet

Discover extraordinary scenery in southern Zante: A small paradise featuring tropical vegetation, crystal blue green waters and uncommon rock formations.

Keri Village is a small and peaceful resort in southern Zante. The beach is clean and quiet, an ideal retreat for tranquil vacations.
In the village, built on the edge of a cliff 200m above the sea level, lays Keri lighthouse.  It is a 9m tall tower, built in 1925 to guide the passing ships to avoid the sharp rocks. The lighthouse can be easily reached by car and a few meters walk to get to the edge. From there, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sunset and the Ionian Sea as well. You can also see Mizithres, two tall white sharp rock formation emerging from water and marking the entrance of Keri Caves.
The white colour of the rocks, the crystal blue of the sea, the sharp cliffs and the deep green mountains create a dramatic scenery, hard to believe unless seen!
Here you can find a traditional tavern where you can enjoy your meal or drink with the view.

Just opposite Keri coast, you can see Marathonisi, a turtle shaped islet in lush greenery featuring golden sandy beaches where Caretta-Caretta turtles lay their eggs. You can reach the islet by renting a boat from Keri coast or Laganas bay. There are no facilities in Marathonisi, so you have to be prepared and carry the supplies you may need.
