Island hoppers, in case you pop over to Paros for a one day trip, here’s the best way to make the most of the island and spend your hours with value. You will surely want to return for the whole experience!
Sights you should not miss in Paros
Start your day by visiting the Ekantotapyliani Church in Parikia, the legendary church with the hundred doors, a well preserved monument of the Byzantine era and a notable attraction in the island. Few kilometers from Parikia, you can continue your tour to the monastery of Jesus of the Woods, which offers a marvelous view for photo shooting Antiparos island, worth the visit. Near the Monastery, find the “Valley of the Butterflies”, an idyllic landscape of dense vegetation and abundant running water, something not to be missed!
Refreshing beaches for all tastes in Paros
It’s midday and temperature has risen, it’s about time for a refreshing sea dip! If you are into lively, organised beaches, you can go to Santa Maria beach or to Punda Beach. For the most adventurous ones, you can head to the Golden Beach for extreme watersports, such as wind surfing and kite surfing. Alternatively, if you seek a tranquil beach for a relaxing sea dip, choose Kolibithres beach or Monastiri beach.
For your energy refill, head back to Parikia and choose a tavern to savor traditional Greek mezedes.
An idyllic hike through Paros inland
Continue your day with a stroll in the picturesque villages of unique beauty, Lefkes and Prodromos. Lefkes is a traditional settlement still untouched by mass tourism, an inland mountain village 10 km far from Parikia, built at an altitude of 300 metres above the sea level. Walk through the narrow alleys of the settlement with the whitewashed houses and flowery streets and enjoy breathtaking views to Naxos Island. From Lefkes, take the old byzantine path to Prodromos village, also known as “the byzantine route”, and enjoy a delightful hike across a marble stones paved path that crosses the untouched, herb-scented nature of Paros inland.
Time for a drink
For your evening entertainment in Paros, choose one of the many cafe-bars in Naoussa village. All the clubs, bars, restaurants and cafes are located on the seafront and many of the venues are housed in renovated former fish storage areas. Relax, view your pictures, think over your experience and you will definitely start planning your next getaway to Paros for longer!
